I wonder how long the crowds will be permitted in. OK, so you have to show your NHS pass to get in, but after that it's drinking time all the way so zero masks.

Perhaps the "audience" should only be permitted in to use the "restroom" and should watch proceedings otherwise via an outdoor big screen ???

Love a bit of darts action!

I see you're old school referring to Gary Anderson as Dreamboy!

So many other inaccuracies with nicknames too.

Matt Campbell is "The Ginger Ninja"
Ted Evetts is "Super Ted"
Chris Landman is now "The Countryman" (Why would a Dutch player be called Lionheart?)
Ross Smith is now "Smudger"
Jeff Smith is now "The Silencer"
Jim Williams is now "The Quiff"

I can understand those that used to play the now defunct BDO, but some have never played in the BDO before, only the PDC.

I think its quite hard to call this year.

Price has a decent draw through to the quarter finals, facing probably Sherrock or Kim Huybrechts early, and then potentially Smith or Durrant in the 4th round. I think he'd beat any of those.

Peter Wright has had a great year. I think its something like he's been in the final of every televised tournament this year (might be wrong but he still been in good form). Arguably his toughest game would be the round before the quarters where you'd expect him to play Clayton, Suljovic or Aspinall.

I would expect MVG and Anderson to meet in the round before the quarters.

In the other section its dead hard to call. Wade, Whitlock, Cullen, Van der Voort, King, take your pick from any of those. You can get 100 to 1 on King and 150 on Whitlock. Might be worth a quid each.

Looking forward to it as always :)

I wouldn't look at Wade or Whitlock tbh. You never know which Wade will turn up at the moment and Whitlock has been in poor form recently and hardly played either. My money on that side would be Cullen or Van der Voort.

yeah I don't think anyone from 2 will win, but there are a few people who can play and have been in big finals there. Like i say with odds of over 100 to 1, they might be worth a quid.

I don't think Anderson has been in brilliant form, but he's twice world champion and you can get him at 40 to 1. If he beat MVG in the quarters I think he could beat anyone.

Peter Wright never made the final of the Masters, UK OPEN, Premier League, World Grand Prix, World Series of Darts, he only come into form last 3 months or so , was getting knocked out early rounds in most tournaments earlier in year. Never made top4 in Premier League. Think he is worth a bet though Johnny Clayton would be my guess.

I'll be watching the snooker on ITV4 until Sunday but love the World Championship darts.

Gary Anderson @ 40/1. Has age caught up with him? Or is the draw brutal? He seems to be written off completely.

Dimitri Van Den Bergh looks very interesting at 14/1. He can throw like a water cannon and is in a nice section.

Anderson's side of the draw is brutal. Michael van Gerwen, Chris Dobey, Dave Chisnall, Darius Labanauskas, Luke Humphries, Adrian Lewis, Ian White, Rob Cross, Raymond van Barneveld & Daryl Gurney all in his quarter of the draw. All very capable of beating him on their day.

The World Grand Prix, an absolute treat, I forgot that was on this week, one of my favourite tournaments on the snooker calendar.

The Dreamboy is in desperately dissappointing form but only a fool would back against him, if he can get some momentum building then he will take some stopping.

What an evening of top sporting action:

Premier League football - Brighton v Wolves.
First night of the PDC World Championship darts.
Last 16 of the World Grand Prix snooker.

Rumpole Of The Bailey will have to be on catch-up. :)

There's a blockbuster of a first round match tonight:

Gary Anderson v Adrian Lewis.

Two former world champions slogging it out. I suppose it shows how far they have both fallen in recent years. A shame in a way we'll lose a big name so early on in the tournament. Cant stand 'Jackpot' Lewis for cheating on his wife and being generally, a twàt, so I hope 'The Flying Scotsman' goes full steam ahead!

I hope the snooker has finished by then!

An incredible first round match, could be a final, and shows the strength of depth in World Darts. I fancy Jackpot to roll back the years against the Dream boy. Bitterly dissapointed with the Lancashire Rose in the last match.
