Very Southgate so far. Ref poor.

How did he stop play at the end there for a perfectly ok tackle!?
Replay showed it was a foul.
Kane was fouled in the box, fact.

Giving us a wonderful opportunity to go in at HT level.
It was a foul, but VAR said not inside. So no going back. During a game micro analysis often shows decisions, or non decisions, weren't correct. Has to be sucked up. I think the ref is fine.

We have to put up with the total wank that is VAR as it’s meant to reduce inaccuracies and then they get that so wrong! I’d rather they just binned it off cos when the ref doesn’t see it, then VAR fails to give it, it feels like a double kick in the bollocks.

Just proves what a useless waste of time VAR is. Penalty decision very, very marginal - those are the kind of decisions the ref should be sent to the screen for. Not the ones where VAR have already made their mind up and ask the ref to go to the screen to basically confirm the decision they’ve already made. Retarded.

Sarisbury Green, Southampton
Rashford for Saka
Mount / Maddison for Rice

Bit more direct, but stronger, better control of midfield
Taking Rice off would be suicidal! You can’t leave Henderson and Bellingham to deal with Griezmann and the rest of the French midfield, England would be totally over run! Plus you would totally neutralise England’s best player in Bellingham.

Replay just showed a) it was a foul b) it was inside the box - or at the very least carried on inside the box. It only has to be on the line to count. Defo pen.

Even the troll posters have a little sympathy with some of the decisions, which have been terrible.

You are blind surely?
No, just not blinded by George Cross specs. Just enjoying a game of football, hoping England can win it, but not letting that spoil my view of it. England missed out on a couple of 50/50s, that happens all the time. Not worth getting stressed about it. It's a 90 minutes game (or 100 minutes or more in this tournament).
