Someone hit by a train, line closed South of Haywards Heath and North of Burgess Hill, will be effecting Brighton and Lewes line

Just picked brother in law up from HH station, it's rammed there. To make the journey slightly longer Issacs lane between HH and BH also closed due to an accident.

A couple of mates of mine were talking about this a while ago, they were heading back from London and apparently hit someone and were told they'd be at Wivelsfield for over an hour. All the lights were turned off as well apparently, is that significant?

A friends young daughter was on that train coming back from London. Safely home now, but upset at the news obviously.. No other news on what actually happened..
Really sad. Thoughts with the blokes family and of course the train driver.

press release regarding last nights fatality on the railway between Wivelsfield and Haywards Heath:
A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers attended the line near Valebridge Road in Burgess Hill, north of Wivelsfield rail station, just before 8.40pm on Sunday, 23 September after a man was struck by a train.
“BTP attended along with Sussex Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service but the man, believed to be a 59-year-old from Haywards Heath, was pronounced dead at the scene."
