Yeh George O’Callaghan is one of those who was always in danger of being forgotten but anyone who saw him can’t deny his flair credentials. Absolutely SLATED the club during a post match interview showing absolutely no professionalism whatsoever . On the pitch he was your classic lower league “gifted” midfielder. Strolling round the pitch spraying the passes around, wondering where it all went wrong

I once saw him at that shitty youth hostel bar in Pool valley (st Christopher’s) on a Friday night (yep, we had a game on the Saturday, yep, he played) and he was doing SHOTS

On a related note, my oldest lad, who is 19, and was in awe of George's casual talent at the Withdean, is currently in his second year at Cork Uni. The Uni third team that he plays centre-midfield for, are entered into the local cups, and he is DREAMING of a match-up against the great man, who is back over there and playing for his local amateur rabble.

I’d like to put forward GONZALO JARA REYES.

He was absolutely mental on the pitch- seemed to be constantly scything players down and wasn’t he literally always banned from driving?

the bloke has played 110 games for Chile

It was worse than that - he missed an Albion game he was due to start in, because he was arrested at the wheel of his car, on the way to the Amex (whilst already banned).

SECONDED

GJR reason for missing that game, must be the second most flair excuse for doing so, after Joe Mattock who sat one out, with an infected BALLSACK after a 'male grooming incident'.

Got to be Leon Knight.
Was at one time actually good.
Achieved something with the club.
Completely mental.
Epic career death spiral.

If only he was foreign and had a wet perm this would be no contest.

Leon Knight's flair credentials:

- The McGhee incident
- Playoff winning pen
- Size
- Best player he's ever faced is Guy Butters
- The funniest wikipedia list of clubs played for in the world
- Twitter homophobia & misogyny (and selling t shirts with Stockdale)
- His classic 'slumped in a chair' appearance in the Withdean Years
- And best of all, the fact that he came ON HERE and started a binfest.

For all you youngsters: http://www.northstandchat.com/showt...t-too-much-on-this-site-time-to-defend-myself

Sorry, but he is solid gold FLAIR.

He's a great shout actually. Also a prime example of wasted talent which is VERY flair.

Would personally like to see a McCourt v Knight final. Two opposing styles of flair, but both very worthy.

Reyes is a great shout.

I also feel Mauricio Tarricco should get at least an HONOURABLE MENTION. Played with his socks rolled right down and it very much felt like he was just going out for a kick about as a favour to his mate Gus. On pitch was a decent enough player but loved a ruck and getting involved with all sorts. Flair hair, flair name, flair apparent lack of shinpads.

UPDATE: Given some of the ridiculous nominations, I'm seconding Taricco. Would be insane for him not to be in there compared to some.

Pure Wild-eye aggression: CHECK
Ability to pull off a backheeled-nutmeg: CHECK (not even Vicente would have tried that)
ONE HUNDRED AND TEN caps for Chile: CHECKCHECKCHECKCHECK

I feel like Taricco was always getting booked for dissent- as a) our most experienced player by far and b) OUR ASSISTANT MANAGER he set a terrible example to the team

I absolutely loved watching him play

I never really thought of him as officially the Assistant Manager. More just Gus's mate.

Stuck his finger up someone's arse whilst playing for Chile too.

Flair.
