wheres that info from?

I was looking at this, and there arent nealry as many goals as what you have said
http://www.neilbrown.newcastlefans.com/brighton/brighton.htm

My info was from Tim Carder and Roger Harris' book (apart from Zamora figures which were from Wikipedia)

It's true that Stephens and Davie's figures include wartime games, meaning that it's Cook, Napier and Ward if you're only going to include peacetime games.

Attwood's scoring rate is astonishing though - there are no wartime games in his 72 goals. In fact, Carder and Harris seem to have that wrong as they only have him playing 75 games - which is a rate of 0.96 goals a game.

so Bobby needs another 13 goals to surpass Wardy,if he stays injury free, he just might do it

I'm presuming it Sir Bobby Zamora:angel: If so why are we still singing about Peter Ward? Ward was great but I do feel surely Bobby has to be the true legend for what we acheived with him and how many games he won us. Could even be playing in South Africa this summer..........

Anyway if you know the highest goal scorer fill me in, thanx.

I would have loved to have seen them playing together

You are probably correct I remember GN getting near but wasnt sure whether he actually broke it or not, memory is letting me down. Thinking about it you are right.

yes he did get near and Ithink he got injured late on in the season which hampered his chances

just trying to think if the 36 goal season of Wardy was the same season he bagged a hat trick for the England U-21's?

I think it was. That hat trick game was one of my most treasured football memories. It was amazing! I remember the crowd singing either Albion or Brighton or seagulls. Not often you'd get that at an international.

So Bobby now has 89, so what record of Peter Ward's has he beaten today?

Edit: league goals. Got it now
