For me, we are currently between seasons, there is no 'this season'. There is last season (2021/22), and next season (2022/23). If I were American I'd perhaps call it the off-season. But I am not, so I will say between seasons.

'Next season' becomes 'this season' at some point over the summer, I'd say it's when the pre-season games start, or maybe when the squad reports back for pre-season training.

This is not a hill I'm willing to die on, though.
