October 16th 1971. 1-1 v Port Vale, Sully scored and Nobby Horton was playing for Vale (I found out recently). My dad took me in the West Stand seats and I was hooked aged 8.

Horton remains my Albion hero to this day. Later in the '70s he lived at the top of my road in Westdene and I have a signed, framed original photograph of him in action at the Goldstone on my office wall. Captain fantastic.

Yes quite recently I think.

Anyway, again it was 30th October 1995 against Swansea City. We lost 0-2 and Frank Lampard scored his first senior league goal.

Well noted. I find it odd that some people can't remember their first game....my son can't (albeit he was about five when I first took him to the Goldstone...).

I honestly can not remember my first home game, my father took me early 70s. I have worked out season 72/73 from some of the players I can vaguely remember in the Albion team.

Thats the problem when you get old..memory fades....Simmo has same problem as you ....fancy an ovaltine?
