What was the LAST gig you went too?

"Show of Hands" performing in the local Church last October. Never expected to get the chance to see them perform live, least of all a 10' walk from home. Superb.

Half Man Half Biscuit at Shepherds Bush on Friday. HMHB were their usual witty selves (Bass player was introduced as "the only man ever to be thrown out of the Eden Project") but the Empire is a pig when they fill the floor that much and the sound engineer needed shooting, grumble, moan, Guinness £4.55 a pint..

That was my last gig too - couldn't believe how long the queue was to get in. Agree that the sound was a bit ropey but can't comment on the beer ar we drank elsewhere before going in. Liked the gag about Phil Neville being the latest footballer with a super injunction but the girl didn't want to be identified.

Just saw Glastonbury warmup for Warpaint in Pompey, f***ing great. Tiny venue but sounded great and I'm in love with Emily 

Magnetic man, sonar, barcelona.

What were they like? The reason I ask is that they are part of a large London Dubstep contingent who've been confirmed for Parklife here in September....

QUOTE
THE sound of London dubstep will make its loudest assault on Australian soil when Parklife returns this spring.
Three of the biggest names from the bass-heavy electro genre have been confirmed for the festival as part of its 2011 line-up.
The dubstep supergroup Magnetic Man, featuring producers Skream, Benga and Artwork, will play a headlining role when the festival hits Wellington Square on Sunday September 25.
Long-time collaborator Katy B will likely join the group as well as perform in solo guise, while dubstep pioneer Nero will be joined by DJ/MC duo Joker and MC Nomad.
Example, the London rapper who has teamed up with Skream for his latest single Shot Yourself in the Foot Again, will play his debut show, as will one-man dubstep phenomenon Flux Pavilion.
For more traditional music fans there will be more to Parklife than unfamiliar shuffling beats and stomach-shaking bass lines.
The Streets, another voice born from the UK's underground music scene, will treat fans to their final Australian shows at Parklife. A vehicle for the songwriting talents of frontman Mike Skinner, the rap-garage act are calling it a day after ten years.
Other headliners set for Parklife are Swedish alt-pop chanteuse Lykke Li, UK electro duo Simian Mobile Disco and US post-punk trio Gossip.
Santigold, Little Dragon and Death From Above 1979 should provide further live highlights, while DJs will include Mylo, Duck Sauce, MSTRKRFT and Diplo.
Tickets go on sale midday on Thursday June 30 through Parklife 2011 - Music Festival - Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth Adelaide - Parklife 2011

Best Coast at Coalition, a great gig it was too

How cool is that Bethany chick, here a (rather poor Blackberry) shot of her on stage in Perth back in early March at their first ever Aussie gig, they were awesome (as was the bizzare support act - Lewis Floyd Henry)......
From the moment she said "The West Coast is the Best Coast" she had the local crowd eating out of her hands.

Suede at Brixton academy. Good although Brett Anderson is a bit too "cool for school" for me, didn't say one word to the crowd. Off to Glastonbury later today.

Last summer - The Orchestra (ELO,ELO PartII) at Chichester Real ale and Jazz Festival - Superb (and still with Mick Kaminsky and Louis Clark) from 70's ELO in the line-up. Well worth seeing if you like ELO tunes ...
