This is the problem in a nutshell.

It's not just that, he struggled to control the ball yesterday, his layoffs weren't working, and he wasn't linking any play plus his movement was wanting. It's no good people on here slating Hemed then when it comes to a cult hero the excuse is service. It was a poor performance and clear now why Hughton has been reluctant to start him.

Spot on - afraid BZ looked very slow and ponderous. What he does do well though is find himself in the right place at the right time with a true striker's instinct as he's already proven this season. Give him 20-30 minute cameos when the situation suits.

Spot on, nothing to do with service, he was a crap at controlling and laying off the ball as Hemed has been. It may have been an off day for him but blaming the service is clutching at straws.

It means he is only fit for cameos
You make this judgement on 60 minutes of play when Tomer has contributed little better for months!? Amazing.

I am no fan of Hemed but I do not think BZ should or can play 90 mins of football at this level anymore. Cameos are all we should expect from him if we want to get a full season out of him. He is fairly injury prone and needs managing, CH is doing a great job with him IMO. Hemed is another story completely...

Bobby Zamora has 37.5% shots to goal conversion this season - higher than both Andre Gray & Ross McCormack, the league's top scorers #BHAFC

I hope someone at the club takes notice of these things.....

Just a slight issue of age, catches up with us all in the end. Could any of you realistically play 90 minutes footy against younger opponents probably not

not suggesting he plays 90 - just the first 60 instead of Hemed. And whilst he may be a bit slow - no one can deny he keeps finding himself in the right place at the right time, when he is given the chance.

Agreed. He is so much better up front holding the ball up which is crucial to establish the team early on in the game.

Why instead of Hemed? They've started three games together, the draw v Burnley, the win v Birmingham, and the win yesterday (7/9 points). Why not stick with what appears to work (albeit from a small sample size) and start them together?

(The three times Zamora started without Hemed were the draw v Bolton, the win v Charlton and the loss v Wolves - 4/9 points)

Good point, but with those two we are woefully lacking in pace up front because they are both ponderous. If we can get KLL back along with Knockaert, might work, with Wilson coming on later to run at tired defenders.

He's now scored in 5 of his last 6 starts. But he's only started 7 games this season. Legend.

I always thought it was a no brainer to start with BZ because he is the top quality in the squad. It does piss me off the CH keeps banging on about how BZ has the knack of being in the right place at the right time........Chris he has so much more than that. The main thing is we stand a chance in taking the lead with him starting. Let's hope he can keep starting to show his quality and sharpness.

Bit unfair to Hughton... In the interview after todays game Bobby himself said he didn't feel like he's played very well in any of the games so far this season and that the ball has landed at his feet on most occasions when he has scored. There is obvious modesty on Bobby's part but Hughton isn't really wrong is he?
