I'd imagine that RDZ wants to look at the loanees before deciding. In midfield, for example, we have Alzate, Karbownik, Weir and Leonard coming back. Maybe one or two of them would fit in. Maybe Furlong could be the cover for Pervis. Maybe Zequiri is worth another look: I'd certainly expect Adringa to figure prominently,

And we also don't know how the likes of Offiah, Peupion and Ayari are developing. We may want just a couple of new players; we may want half a dozen. We'll soon find out

Probably working!
Yep. Alongside Ferguson, Undav and Joao Pedro we need a striker who we can rely on to appear in at least 25+ PL games, and provide at least 9/10 goals and assists in a season or we'll be in trouble...

er ....

like Welbeck in 22/23 - 30PL appearances in fact, like Welbeck in 21/22, and like Welbeck in 20/21.
😆
Stop spoiling people’s fun with all those facts.

I've got a bad feeling (based on nothing at all) that we will sell Caicedo and Igor will be our only other first team signing...
I think 1-2 more players are incoming (Kudus, Palmer are credible rumours) buteven if not few other PL clubs so far have signed 4 new first team players already Dahoud, Verbruggen, Milner, Joao Pedro , have young players like Adingra, Alzate, Sarmiento, and Lamptey and possibly Moder back to fitness/contention and have three teenagers like Buonanotte, Ferguson and Enciso who have only made a fringe contribution so far, in their squads and still a long way from peaks and also pretty much sorted contractual issues with JPVH, Veltman, Dunk, March, Sarmiento, Steele all signing new agreements in past few months. Squad is in v.good shape even with the McAllister/and possibly Caicedo /Colwill holes to fill.

Brighton
For me at least:

A very decent left footed CB
A RB to either Lamptey's inevitable injuries or in the Pervis mould
A LB to cover Pervis
A CM to replace Caicedo if he gets sold
Kudus

So in essence, a few more is needed, especially for depth.

This post would be largely correct except that we’re going to be playing 2 games a week for most of the season. More cover absolutely needed in a number of areas.

Yep. I just hope the club sees things that way and doesn't take a chance on what we have.

Fans want us to have 40 players, those in charge of it more likely to think 23-24 is enough. Same as always.
Let's hope they're right. As West Ham and other clubs who have played in the Europa League will tell you, European football places extraordinary demands on most teams and the need for a large well-balanced squad is crucial.

I think City used 23 players last season when they won the PL and CL

Aah. That's OK then. How silly of me not to view us in the same light as City.

Earlier in this thread i said we'd be buying further players in certain areas but nonetheless the squad was still in a good shape especially so early into the window. .
PS: Thanks for reminding me we're in Europe this season though !

It's bizarre, isn't it?

Only Don Hutchison seemed to notice, and no-one listens to him it seems.

The most sequential load of tosh I have seen this summer.

Starts:

Liverpool, Man City to engage in two-way battle for Brighton sensation as Klopp eyes double Seagulls swoop

Continues:

Estupinan has been getting rave reviews from pundits, and some top Premier League teams could look to sign him this summer.

Then:

A new left-back isn’t thought to be one of Klopp’s priorities. But, as mentioned, Estupinan has been excellent for Brighton this season, so he could be tempted into launching an offer.

If it closed right now even taking into account Macallister and Colwill I'd be more than happy keeping Estupinan Mitoma and Caciedo plus what we already have signed will be a result, I'm astounded nobody has sniffed around Estupinan his stats for last season were incredible.

Most selected defender in the fantasy game!
