£6170 for a brand new 3 bedroom, centrally heated, mid terrace in Stevenage in 1971.

Sold it for £9900 in 1976 and moved to Crawley and paid £10,500 for a nice 3 bed semi detached, now sitting on a pile "valued" at about £550k

First purchased home was whilst in Majorca. 1989 bought a 3 bed apartment for £25000 at an interest rate of 15%. Sold it in 1997 for £40000 to return home. The housing boom of 2000 saw it shoot up to £110000. Wish I'd kept it as didn't really need to sell it.

in 1977, £9750 for a one bedroom maisonette in North Baddesley just outside Southampton

I can remember that, in the early 1960's, my parents paid about £3,250 (certainly less that £4,000) for a nice 3-bedroom 1930's semi in a nice bit of Worthing - Broomfield Avenue, near Thomas a'Becket.

Where is St Reatham? Is it near St Albans?

I didn't know there was a saint called Reatham.

£105,000 and one the same is currently being advertised (but patently won't get) £193,000. If it goes for anything close to that I'll be on to the bank to ask for an under 50% value mortgage rate as I didn't borrow the full amount and it was a few years ago.

2 bed end of terrace on the Priory Meadow estate in Littlehampton/Wick (the nice part).

2011. £147,000.

£20K mid terrace victorian property in Rusthall in 1984, needed a lot of work done to it before occupying so probably another £20ish accounted for. Through the wonders of 192.com I am reminded that I sold it for £45,500 in Nov. '95 and that subseqeuently it has sold for £117K in July 2002 and £133K in November of the following year.

£195k in 2006 in Swindon. I've effectively bought the same place 3 times now! First with a friend, then with an ex (who wasn't an ex at the time, that'd be weird) and then finally on my own. Just before the crash, so probably worth a very similar amount now, possibly up to a 5% increase in value.
