We are now clearly the biggest club on the South Coast.

25 years and a couple of weeks after we played at Pissfield against Shrewsbury in front of 1917 spectators, we’ve got a World Cup Winner on our roster, in the European places on Boxing Day, biggest fan base with regular 30,000 attendances and finally comfortably looking down on all the other coastal clubs.

Whilst our rivals?

Southampton set for a long hard winter.

Bournemouth will do well to finish outside the bottom six.

Portsmouth struggling to get out of Division 3 with a couple of ex PE teachers in charge.

And looking North it’s going to be no cakewalk at Selhurst for the Frenchman.

So for all times we had to endure Palace issuing notice to terminate the rivalry, Mandaric and Redknapp effectively buying the FA Cup and EPL football whilst knowing full well it would ultimately bankrupt Pompey, Saints and Bournemouth giving it large on occasion, perhaps we always knew deep down with a decent owner who actually supports the club, that the cream would always rise to the top eventually?

Merry Xmas and a Happy New Year NSC 🎅🍾

It’s now a quarter of a century ago. That’s a long time in fairness. None of us are young anymore that remember such times. Let’s live in the present moment and enjoy. Even I’m tiring of harming back to them times, and I was at Hereford don’t you know :albion2:

We have been one of the best supported Clubs in the South for many years. Even with Gillingham, Withdean and terrible league standings our support (especially away) has been outstanding.

No. 1910, when we became the first and only Southern League team to become Champions of All England, was our coronation.

We always struggle to get result at St Marys, finally put that one to bed. They looked incapable of scoring against us in open play

As much as I would like to agree with this Lenny, until we actually win anything of note the other teams will always have the pure fact that they have achieved something we haven’t. Saints and Pompey have both won the FA Cup. Even Bournemouth won the Championship and we didn’t.

We need to win something.

Portsmouth are also previous football league champions.
