Was CMS offside?

If you look a few frames later the ball is in front of his feet, just before he hits it.

I'm not sure which frames you mean but from the ones I have looked at CMS always look to be level with the ball, never ahead of it, so on side.

Ha! I had a go too.
Tricky to get a screenshot when Calde releases the ball but i reckon...Level with the last defender...

Actually, Calde looks like he is ahead of CMS and therefore CMS is behind the ball when it's kicked so onside.

Whether he is in line with the last defender is not important as he was behind the ball.... Looks like it anyway!

I was taking the Michael. Obviously the ball is in front when CMS hits it, meaning that the position of the ball isn't a good indicator of offside after it has been hit (as in the OP).
