Had an issue with my virgin broadband a couple of days ago.
I've been with them since god was a boy with no problems hence why i have stayed with them.
My tinternet was running slow so did a speed check, 1.6mb/sec :)
so rang them got the dreaded automated press 1 them 4 etc, eventually got to the part i wanted and the automation advised " we are now checking your connection". few moments later advised it had detected a problem with the connection, told "please wait 10 mins and turn off/on you router, if this does not correct your problem please call right back and we will connection you directly with a technician".
did as instructed did a re test and speed was 52 mb/sec and very speed again, so from this can't fault them.
