This feels like a transfer SAGA that has been engineered in it's entirety by NSC. Like Penny Crayon or something.

Yes, Gus had nothing better to on Sunday until NSC suggested he go to Holland to watch a footie match.

At least this is one transfer story that has substance to it - although I fear there's still a good chance we might get gazumped by Ajax or a Prem club if it descends into a bidding war. It would be a coup if we the guy signs for us. £2m+ is a lot but we need a quality CB who has a future and could go on and do a job for us in the Prem. I'd rather pay that than splash a similar sum on an overpaid and over the hill ex-Prem player like Upson.

Bizarre Transfer Speculation - Virgil van Dijk

I don't think Bozza necessarily knows where Dijk is going but just wanted to raise awareness of that tweet- he could be going to Ajax according to above.

*crosses fingers*

Sorry, it was this. I have no inside knowledge on this one.

'Good luck in the UK, saw that the trainer of brighton and your ballobserver was there so goodluck.

'selling virgel for a nice price then. you can count this as a lost season anyway'

Translated by my Dutch friend, not much in it

Given Greer's injury, I hope we have a Plan B, assuming van Dijk is Plan A.

According to his last tweet he's at training- this is why you can't read anything into tweets from footballers. They are TEASERS.

"Uitlooptraining" translates roughly as "post match" training

Google translates it as 'runs training'... Either way, it suggests the previous tweets may have been 'tongue in cheek' rather than anything to do with him coming to us (or someone else)!

Watched the game on the net yesterday. VvD was superb.

Looked and moved like a young Ruud Gullit!

God I hope this happens!

Indeed, it seems clear - we're over there with an interest in buying, so I can't see how anyone here would have any more knowledge than that.
So Poyet was in Holland watching him play against NEC yesterday. Seeing we are already interested, we can only assume that Gus is over there to negotiate a contract?
No. If a fee had been agreed, and we'd been given permission to speak to him, he'd be over here. Gus has gone and watched him play, to decide how much he thinks we can stretch our offer.
