Bought a couple of tickets earlier for Villa Park and was shocked to see a number of 'Vomitory' being shown.

My recollections of Villa Park from when I was a teenager didn't suggest that it was that sick inducing but maybe they have a lower tolerance to alcohol up north.

Well, yes... Because French is a Romance tongue and direct descendant of Latin. But the word, like ~50% of the everyday English vocabulary, is a loan from Norman French.
