Walking along the main road before the game really was like walking through a small part of India. The sights, the sounds...really was quite interesting.

Couldn't even find a pub, just indian take-aways. Did anyone actually see an indian inside the ground though? except stewards

It is a physical impossibility to have too many curry houses in any town. The more the better. Chicken tikka masala with sag aloo, peshwari nan and a Kingfisher anyone?:drool::p:love:

I found this, which is interesting although slightly out of date.

Yes, it's worth a glance. The figures for Icknield ward confirm that it has a higher than average number of people of Indian origin than most other parts of Luton, but a much lower proportion of people of Asian origin than the rest of the town. A well above average number of owner occupiers and two-car households as well.

Luton's ethnic diversity is very interesting.

Lord Bracknell, I strongly disagree. It is not in the least bit interesting, rather there is a much more dull and uninteresting explanation; Luton WAS notoriously the cheapest, largest town outside of the Borough, thus those who are now what we label second or third generation Indians, on moving to this country could not afford the costs of setting up a business/procuring property in London - therefore with limited to no knowledge of the country they settled for the cheapest possible alternative close to London.

Which nowadays amounts to young professionals without mortgage debt commuting into London for a junior business work commitment, OR these very same second/third generation Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi/etc/etc/etc/etc/ people :)

Luton IS a complete dive because it is inhabited by people paying near London prices, lacking the same recompense in terms of income.
