Today is a reminder of how the US works, they look after themselves. Something for us all to ponder, there is no special relationship. Its a myth...

Amanda Knox, prime suspect in the murder of Meredith Kercher was straight back to the Good Ol USA as fast as she could run when temporarily acquitted. She said then she was never going back to Italy if she was found guilty at a re-trial.

Sorry, if she had stayed would she have been treated the same by popular opinion, the media, and the legal system if she was a poor black man who was unemployed? What if it was from a marginalized, minority British community, like a poor Bangladeshi on public assistance or a poor African migrant? Especially one with a prior “record” of a driving infraction?

Would you have been so immediately forgiving, going so far as to accept her supposed defense before even the facts have come out? She hasn’t even made a statement yet and you’re already voicing and then self-accepting excuses she hasn’t even made! Amazing stuff this.

Rich, powerful people do whatever they want in the world. Their fines, sentences, punishments are all jokes. They live in a different world, by a different standard.

Are you asleep out of circumstance? Or is your alarm trying to wake you, but you keep hitting snooze?

I suggest that instead of going off on one about the rich and powerful, you should read again that i I was referring to the driver, and made it quite clear in another post that the issue of her facing justice is another matter. I did not say she should be forgiven, or treated lightly, by the way. Whilst there is merit in what you say about the rich and powerful, it doesn't always work like that. Wasn't there a speeding MP earlier this year, who thought that she was above the law and a certain ex Albion player?

A US woman will be charged with the death by dangerous driving of motorcyclist Harry Dunn.

Mr Dunn, 19, died in the road crash in Northamptonshire in August that led to suspect, Anne Sacoolas, leaving for the US under diplomatic immunity.

The move comes after a file was handed to the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on 1 November.

The CPS said immunity did not apply to dependants of consular officials outside of London.

Got to feel for the Dunn family as Harry’s killing fades into the background with almost no chance of anything being advanced for many months now with the Covid situation, if ever.
