‘Twas the morning of Palace, when all through the town
Not a copper was stirring, not even downtown.
The Seagull flags were hung by the window with care,
In hopes that Saint Gus would be there.
The young fans were still in their Albion pyjamas
Having visions of Palace playing like llhamas
The missus in her nightie and I in my poncho
Had just settled down for some …(sorry can’t think of something to rhyme here – time to end the tale and stop getting distracted by events this eve)
