What is the point of getting battling draws at places like Leeds and Forest when we just give away so much in games like port vale at home. I fear the play off dream has gone

Losing to the team bottom of the table, and deservedly so doesn't seem to suggest that we should have much optimism

No reason to give up though, as SJLM says, if we beat Sarfend we're right back in it.

Course it's very disapppointing, but we won't get anywhere if we give up when we're against the odds. All the sides above us WILL drop points, we just have to make sure we capatalise.

But that is often how it goes! Look at Bournemouth beating Swansea, and being good value for it apparently.

The top to bottom clashes often go weird ways outside the Prem..

we never do well against teams at the bottom of the table - thats typical Albion innit :)

the Love Monkey is right (for a change) but major questions have to be asked before that game for a side struggling overall they created a hell of alot of chances didn't they!

Just chuckling at Charlton
Its mirroring the Championship, Bristol City lost today (1 win in 6 for them), Watford won but are as inconsisitent as, Ipswich lost at Colchester and Plymouth got beat at home by 10 man Charlton. Only Hull are showing any real form. Palace go to Stoke Monday and if we win are back in the top 6 again.

No one seems to want to go up!

Against footballing teams we play well as they usually allow us to play our own game, but when it comes to lesser teams who try an stop us playing our game we struggle. Today was a case in point as Vale pushed right up onto our backs and stopped us playing out of defence through the midfield. I also thought today highlighted the need for an experienced centre back to organise and calm things down.

We're 4 points off 6th, but "the season is over"
Hopefully the players don't take the same view.

the season is no way over,
we lost and played rubbish, but we are not finished yet.

Pre season, up to new years day, No one expected us to be challenging at this stage f the season, just be greatful we still have a chance, and get behind the team

In theory it's not over but even if we do beat Sarfend we will still be 5 points adrift of them. The only way we can hope for a play-off spot is if Leeds stumble up somwhere but I can't see it happening tbh.

No obviously the players are not thinking the same way or they may have tried to win this game to keep us up to pace with teams like South end, who are showing consistency and the will to get into the playoffs, we should be 1 point off of Th tonight. There has to be teams that miss out on the run in and fall away, and that is gonna be a team like ours that do not take the opportunity to push on

Yes.
I wonder why the team didn't go out and try to WIN today. How strange.

Even if this season is/was over. It's been a good season compared to a number of people's thought's pre-season.
