I just watched last weeks on iPlayer, was VERY good. Was this weeks based fully on one of the stories or did it go back to a bit of all of them? Will watch it when it appears on iPlayer. Unfortunately the girlfriend now wants to watch Eastenders...

its moved on a bit this week and had all the characters back again... some lovely touches with the Dwarf in Eastbourne... Biggins is over the top as usual !

Wow, North Portslade all quiet and calm again now after a rather impressive thunderstorm and a lashing of rain. All smells lovely and post storm earthy now.

Giant tree crushes car after lightning strike

A huge tree was split by a lightning strike as storms swept through Sussex.

Violent weather caused floods and electricity failures and triggered dozens of fire alarms on Thursday night.

Sudden storms swept across the Downs, hitting areas of West Sussex but missing swathes of the eastern side of the county.

Two cars were crushed and two others damaged by debris when a 10m piece of a Giant Redwood tree broke off in Mill Drive, Henfield, at about 9.20pm.

Pieces of the tree also hit two houses.

The 4m-thick trunk was split down the middle. Tree surgeons were clearing the wreckage this morning.

In Brighton, a tin canopy fell 50ft from scaffolding onto cars parked in the courtyard of a block of flats.

Firefighters were called to Cavendish Court in St George’s Road, Kemp Town, at about 10.40pm.

No-one was injured but cars were damaged.

They spent more than an hour working at the scene, using an aerial ladder to get to the top of the scaffolding and try to secure what was left at the top.

The scaffolding firm was called to make the structure safe.

The Windmill pub in Old Shoreham Road, Southwick, was hit by lightning at about 9.15pm.

The strike caused an electricity failure.

Shortly afterwards houses were also struck in Limbrick Lane and Wordsworth Road, Worthing.

One strike was reported at the Old Post Office in Deadmantree Hill, Cooksbridge, near Lewes, at 11.55pm.

The downpour caused several reports of flooding as drains were overwhelmed.

Firefighters pumped water from the cellar of the Buckingham Arms pub in Brunswick Road, Shoreham, which flooded at 10.30pm.

They were then called to the nearby Brio restaurant where the basement dining area was flooded with water from a storm drain.

Blocked drains flooded a flat above an Oxfam shop in South Street, Chichester, at 9.54pm.
