It is an expensive signing. £7m in wages for one year is a lot. But loan fee's are also common place these days, so im sure plenty of clubs have paid near that figure in wages and fees for a season loan. & well as the footballing ability it brings im sure Tony is looking at this loan in terms of how it affects the clubs profile. If top talents from Barcelona are willing to join, then its inevitable other higher profile players than we normally attract might become interested.

Yep I get why we did the signing it's an absolute no brainer. Just found it interesting that bloom said he was expensive, can't ever remember him saying something like that about an individual player before.
