Well Tudor Băluţă has gone on loan to Dancing Alan's Den Haag.

14 days to go...

Perhaps a striker to come in.. perhaps not..

£20m should get Albion Jarrod Bowen.

Him and Maupay would be good in the Div 2 next year as well.

:moo:

Our Wikipedia page says we've signed Marcus Ifill, a 16 year old midfielder, from Swindon Town - seemingly confirmed by this tweet from a couple of days ago. I've not seen it mentioned anywhere else...?

[tweet]1215730025904922624[/tweet]

Just to flesh this one out a bit more...

He is currently in his U-16 schoolboy season, and has joined Albion with a three-year deal - a two-year scholarship (commencing in July) followed by a one-year professional contract. One of his Swindon academy colleagues was wishing him good luck on his move to Albion back in September, so the move has been in the works for a while.

One poster on the Swindon Town forum thetownend.com has suggested the fee was £275k; another said he had heard it was £250k plus add-ons. He was named on the bench by Swindon for their League Two fixture at home to Northampton Town on August 20; if he had come on he would have become their youngest-ever first team player at the age of 15 years and 291 days.

As an aside, does anyone remember our former full-back Rob Hunt? He moved to the Robins in the summer and now has more than a century of league appearances under his belt, for Swindon Town, Oldham Athletic and, of course, those precious 20 minutes or so of Championship action for the Seagulls at Burton Albion over 3 years ago.

As you were....

Is he the "triallist" we've seen in some of the U18 teamsheets recently?

I haven't seen a trialist on an U-18 teamsheet recently. Care to share?

There may or may not have been a trialist on one or more U18 teamsheet recently...

The data on the Albion website is centrally-held data (you can see exactly the same data on the Premier League website). I'm pretty sure that "trialist" is just a placeholder in the dataset of ALL U-18 players across all clubs; the only trialist I am aware of who we have had turn out for the U-18s this season is Bobby Copping (who started in the match at home to Chelsea on September 14). We haven't had a trialist appear for the U-18s since then, I'm pretty sure.

Is this Paul Ifill’s boy or any relation?

I really hope we’re close to bringing in a striker, if Potter is left with Murray and Connolly to support Maupay for the rest of the season, we’re doomed. Not even Klopp could do anything with that.

Yup, Murray is past it and Connolly is clearly not good enough yet, but there is absolutely no chance of the club bringing in a quality striker before the deadline.

We must must must improve the squad in January. I would even take someone like Ben Brereton on loan rather than nothing
