Not there yesterday but got feedback that the Tunnel Club punters in WSL, where the old Press Box seats were, seemed to annoy a few in the seats behind due to late arrivals on kick off and after half time milling around getting drinks (soft) and food served during the game. Is this going to be our Wembley Corporate area that only fills up minutes after kick off and HT as some people prefer drinking and eating over football?

As a point of interest where has the Press Box been moved to?

Still there. It surrounds it. I assume some may have been moved to the other press area.

This is the honest truth. A very wealthy mate of a mate bought a couple and I was offered a seat for the Luton game - I was on a train across France. Last year I was offered one of his 1901 seats for the Chelsea game - I was in Amsterdam. I assume every time I'm offered the best seat in the house I should go abroad and we can seal a 4-1 victory.

Perhaps your “mate” knows your travel plans 😉

Food served during the game? To their seats?

Yep, apparently a bit of furore from the 1901 seats - sit the f*** down, WTFs and it stopped after 10 mins.

Hearsay as I wasn’t there though
Weird. Why can’t they eat it before the game or at half time in their lounge?

To clarify, the old press box has been effectively split in two with tunnel club members seated in what was the central area. Instead of pairs of desks allowing easy access, we now have rows of four seats, meaning that the occupants of the two seats in the centre of the rows have to inconvenience others and get past trailing cables etc. Plus you can't always see what's going on when waiting staff are taking food and drink to tunnel club members. Not the most convenient arrangement for professionals trying to do a job, although I believe I hear the sound of tiny violins.

It also means that some members of His Majesty's Press are sent up to the overspill in the back row of WSU, but as they are allowed to use the service lift that can almost be a better option, especially when it's raining.

From my seat at the rear of W1DH, I spotted TC members sporting LANYARDS and a rectangular badge (possibly gold, slightly smaller than the ones on Jim'll Fix It).

These aren't the players you're looking for.

One of the many football podcasts I listen to were talking about these type of corporate facilities and they gave an example, not the Amex, where these corporate seats, which only accounted for about 10% of the stadium capacity, actually generated as much revenue as the other 90% cheap seats combined.

Do we have any eye-witness accounts from the tunnel club yet? Is it a bit like this?

Unbelievable the TV is saying please take your seat which is being totally ignored as the scotch egg still needs to eaten.

Perhaps by joining the Tunnel Club the football becomes just an irritant sideshow

Scotch eggs and a view of the players in fog? Best ten grand you could ever spend.

I'm trying to figure out the timing of that shot...

- The diners appear to be having their starter, so a lot of their meal still to come (although there is coffee on the table too)
- Are the players heading in or out? No mascots in sight and Dunk isn't at the front. I guess this could be as they leave the dressing room before they reach the mascots and Dunk takes the lead.
