Yeah that's about right... Fishersgate is probably just in West Sussex.. Portslade is wholly in East Sussex..
The join in the Old Shoreham Road is basically opposite Speedy Spares-ish... if you go a bit further north, the border is just west of PCC on Mile Oak Road.. which is split into

a)Mile Oak Road, Southwick
b)Mile Oak Road, Portslade
and of course
c)Mile Oak Road, Mile Oak


So... back to the original point! Withdean is at least 4 miles into East Sussex!

Well, politically of course, Brighton, Hove and my beautiful home town, ahem, Portslade, are in neither East or West Sussex. Geographically they are East Sussex - not sure why we let those bumpkins from West Sussex share such a jewel. But that's us East Sussexers, generous to a tee!

The M23/A23 is in West Sussex right down until the pylons between Pyecombe and Patcham.
