At the Crewe game on Saturday, there was a couple sitting in front of me who just didn't seem as though they should be together, but they were. They were exactly on the half way line, three rows back. She was about 20, long hair, big Posh Spice type designer sunglasses (which had to give way to normal ones once the match started), a very short denim skirt and a white shirt with a gold belt tied tightly round her slim waist. She was most definitely one to catch your eye. He was possibly twice her age with slightly greying hair with a scruffy T-shirt and shorts and was wearing a big floppy hat. He was definitely not a sun worshipper unlike his companion. I've never seen her at an away game before and as he was so nondescript you wouldn't notice him even if he was a regular.

The thing that struck me as most odd was that they hardly spoke to each other throughout the whole time they were there. Before the game and at half time he read a book rather than discuss the finer points of our team selection and performance. They didn't join in with any songs but did clap at the appropriate times. They didn't act like Father and Daughter (why would a girl of that age to to a game with her very boring Dad?) or Husband and Wife or Partners (too big an age gap & too big a difference in type) so my mind wandered as to what their relationship could be.

Did anyone else notice them? You could hardly miss her great long legs! Does anyone know them? Who and what relationship are they?

I am interested as to whether you actually saw any of the match.

sounds a great game, don't know them but amazing how the mind can stroll after a few beers during a dull game , the women also seem so much better looking after a few beers and surrounded by beer bellied men.

Not in any way related to the above statement , I used to sit a couple rows back from Simsters wife in the early days of withdean

True, he didn't. But I was there nonetheless.

Anyway I'm worried now - Dougal thought it best to bring this up on an "odd couple" thread. :D

Oh well, I can confirm I didn't buy her in a catalogue anyway.

Yeah in C block , we had Kirspies in there early days , blonde bird, decent looking

We did indeed. Happy days. And one row in front of us, it transpired we had Tricky Dicky from this very site.

Those were the days. Overpriced, shit football, but we WON all the time. :D

You stole her from a catalogue?
Yes. I ordered her, she turned up with her rudimentary command of English and then we moved house. For all I know there is a bill for £1,500* on the doormat in our former abode in Wimbledon.

*There may be people on this site better placed to tell us the true cost of a mail order wife.
