The horse riding element of the modern pentathlon is one of my favourite events.

Randomly allocating horses to riders certainly adds to it :)

I'm too nervous to watch the women's Hockey. Obviously expect the Dutch to make it 3 golds in a row, and I'm impressed with GB for getting to the final.

Sadly I can't find the story, but the 5 live commentator referenced a story from the 1968 pentathlon.

Apparently a German competitor had to be restrained from beating up his allocated horse as he was so bad at show jumping.

With the organisational skills in Brazil, I was thinking they'd have some very special horses for some of the athletes.
