Completely amazing just before kick off. So much so that I didn't even think about getting my phone out to video it.

Anyone got a video?

4 out of the past 5 seasons we've been right up there in the mix, and it was only a certain manager that screwed us in the other, I have faith we'll keep fighting up at the top until we reach our goal!

I have to admit my feelings towards the game were purely to go and say thank you to the team for such a wonderful season.
With the likely team, I had no expectation that we could overcome the deficit.
Looking around the stadium before the game, there was no feeling that we were particularly up for it.

When word got out that Knockaert was starting the whole mood changed. People really started believing we might do it.
The chants of we've got Knockaert were being bellowed out before the game even started

A masterstroke by Hughton. Keeping it completely under wraps and letting the fans get excited by the news, at the pivotal moment.

Just a shame that free kick didn't go in.. We would have romped home if it had.

I have to admit that even the East Upper went for it tonight, I am not sure how we managed to wake them up but they did. It goes to show the sort of atmosphere that can be created when we need to. Rest of the ground I doff my cap, quality and hairs were standing up on my neck.

Agree with everyone that the atmosphere and noise was amazing last night. I also agree that we could do with a bit more of that at the Amex on a regular basis.
But I also think we can't expect a 'normal' league game ever to match last night for atmosphere, simply because most of those games just don't matter as much as last night did. I also quite like the idea that we can save something special for occasions like that, if only to differentiate them from regular matches and to make sure that none of us ever forget them.

Amazing is one of the most overused words in the modern world, but last night was nothing less than amazing, both from the players and the fans. So glad I was there to witness and be part of it. We've raised the bar, now we have to deliver something like that on a more regular basis. That's not decrying our normal home atmosphere, we're far more critical of it than the vast majority of away fans and neutrals are, but last night is proof that the 12th man is no myth - there's no way the players could have put in that first half without that noise sweeping them along. Brilliant, simply brilliant.

The Amex is always stadium porn but last night the (not so) old girl surpassed herself. First time I'd sat in the WSU since the first ever match (Sussex Senior Cup Final) and the sun setting over the downs, the flags, the acoustics, the buoyant North stand....the list is endless, even the sprinklers, an absolute feast for the senses and all for £25.

I've been a sth since the start of the AMEX and no question it was the loudest it's ever been. It was IMMENSE. The southerners are a more reserved bunch generally but my god you get them fired up and they're a damn sight more passionate than any northerners. We've got history now, we've come so close so many times. We've been robbed this season. Next season let's f ucking rock it every home game. Intimidate the away team, intimidate their goalkeeper, don't clap the away fans like a bunch of prawn sandwich brigade softees. I don't want us to be appreciative of the opposition, I want us to crush them. We need to be ruthless and have the passion we showed last night

Great atmosphere now let's build on it in the south west corner and the north into areas for fans who whant to jump up and down and wave flags and even a drum. The Atmosphere is always good in the WSU and let the 1901 show its colours. At the end of the day the players deserve a pat on the back as the helped this season with getting the fans going with the effort on the pitch. Need a few weeks to recover and I will ready to go again.:albion2:

It was one of those occasions despite the result I think remain with me for a long time, I had goosebumps and despite the result it was the best atmosphere ever at the Amex. I was so proud of the team and like many have said before that needs to be the motivation for auto promotion next season. :albion2:

Had a call from my mate in Uganda who watched it in a pub on the big screen.

He said it was one of the most bizarre experiences he has ever had watching football out there, normally the pub is a mass of noise and shouting when the football is live on TV.Ive watched football over there with him and its normally a cacophony of irregular noise.
He said the place was silent,it wasnt really because we were destroying them early on,but said no one could believe the noise they were hearing, they were just astonished at the atmosphere,"i dont think people have heard anything like that before" he said

on the plus side he said about 800 Ugandans now think we are the most incredibly well supported club in the world

I was also chatting to The Judge on the train to Falmer and we were discussing the atmosphere etc, but after experiencing that on Monday it has put a lot of our fears at rest I must say

The other night felt like a bit of a turning point. It felt it bit more like the old Albion, even though we lost, in a way, maybe that's what we needed, to feel hard done by one last time to become the real Albion again. The stadium feels that little bit more like home now. I just have this feeling that next season is going to be amazing, and so is the crowd.

I got there a few minutes after kick off as the trains were terrible. As I was walking/jogging down the ramp at Falmer station I could hear the crowd. As I got in the North Stand concourse, it sounded like we had just scored, but we hadn't, it was just an attack on Wednesday's goal. The noise also went on a lot longer than it does for when a goal is scored too.

Tbh, our bit in the North Stand sung just as much as we always do, but this time it was brilliant to hear the rest of the ground joining in with us again. We made it imtimidating, the whole crowd booed and whistled their keeper everytime he had the ball and no one (as far as I could see) clapped the away attendence, and instead it was booed. It's what it should be like everytime!

Even if we get half of that next season, away teams will be quaking in their boots. So come on Albion, let's keep it going!
