From the massive screen next to me it looked out. Not sure why we could see it and 3rd umpire couldn't
The whole bail didn't appear to have been removed from the stump. The angle you would have seen would have shown the stump breaking and the bails partially removed. The umpire looked at all the other angles and couldn't be 100% sure on that. That said, one of the angles was deceptive. Best look at the footage yourself rather than me explain it.

I had no problem with the decision as made. It's only later with further forensics we see the front on angle was deceptive and it probably was out. But the umpire can't sit there for half an hour and reach that judgement. It's one of those variables we have to live with.

They should have those zing bails.

The essence of Bazball and why England fans get value for money watching them play this style. Unlike the Aussie bores.

Andy Zaltzman
Cricket statistician on Test Match Special
“It took Australia 12 overs to score 12 off the bat yesterday - it's taken England one this morning.
It's also the third time in the series Zak Crawley has hit the first ball of an England innings for four.”

Loved how there was a bit of talk creeping in about the Aussie lead and they just obliterated it in one over. Cook on TMS absolutely right, 3rd innings is sometimes tough to judge how to approach and this mindset just takes that out and gets them settled.

Wouldn’t take that weather forecast to seriously, draw is still 6/1 or so there will be lots of play even amongst the showers.

Of all the mad things we’ve seen this series, by far the maddest is the “top scorer” battle being between Khawaja and Crawley. Nobody saw that coming.
