Why cant we get Dean Hammond on a months loan while we sort out a permenant signing, he would be an improvement on Saturdays midfield especially with Croft out for 3 games.

Not so simple, boro don't want to let Butterfield go til they have a replacement, Hudds won't let Clayton go til they get Butterfield or a replacement.
The deal could still be rushed through if we were to pay over the odds, but we won't and I'm glad we won't.

Sometimes you have to pay a bit over the odds to sign a player or you end up missing out altogether, With Stephens injured, Crofts suspended and fitness doubts over Toko we're not exactly blessed with midfield options at the moment either.

good idea lets replace one footballer that cannot control and pass a ball with another

Toko, Ince and JFC is the way to go. JFC at the head of the 3, hes a goal threat and thats where he should be playing.

Dean Hammond has far more ability, ball control, tactical brain than any of those at the moment perhaps not in 12 months but now definitely. We showed on Saturday they are not up to the job yet, perhaps one day but not consistently yet and we need somebody for Saturday.

Or.... We could hang on a little while longer, Middlesbro will move on as he clearly doesn't want to play for them and Huddersfield are left with a player who would rather be elsewhere, ala Bridcutt last season, and any offer we have made may become more tempting the closer we get to the end of the month.

Any doubts over Toko's fitness may just be speculation, maybe Sami just preferred other options. We still have JFC, Kemi, March, Ince and Toko for 3 central midfield spots you could probably get KLL or CMS to play in the advanced role too and Crofts will be back in a couple of weeks, we can afford to wait.

I don't think JFC has developed as much as we hoped and I dont believe he is good enough for that role in the team. It is possibly the most important position in the current system and a visionary with good technical skills in the mould of Vicente is what is needed.
