People are forgetting de zerbi had a mini breakdown last season around this time in interviews. When he said it would be unacceptable for the club to sell maccer or caciedo before the summer.

It's just his style.

On the plus side if he can't win games anymore at least we will probably get to enjoy him next season !!
Infinitely preferable to have a manager full of fire and passion than some random over-promoted geography teacher from Solihull. RDZ is fighting his corner for additional resources primarily on our behalf. He can walk away anytime. He'll move on to far greater things. The loss will be ours

Seems pretty simple. He can have free transfer 27/28 year olds who aren’t elite or can have 30M costing youngsters who aren’t YET elite and train them up in his style. Either way we’ll not risk the future financial health of our club.

Did they? Biss came in and ran around a lot and didn’t nail down a place for a while and Caicedo only got his break after a while.
Caicedo went and did very little in Belgium first too. Baleba will be a good player and if our ambitions were to be mid table it would be fine to have him playing quite regularly as he learns. But, by Barber’s own admission, RDZ has raised our ambitions and so we need someone with some of CB’s physical attributes who is a few years on in their development to achieve that. Easier said than done though

It’s worth adding that we don’t know what happened behind closed doors in the last window. It’s possible a top class DM was identified (eg the guy from Italy), along with Kudus who has taken to the PL like a duck to water, and the club decided not to pursue them due to value for money concerns/policy. We do know that happened with the CB RDZ wanted from Shaktar. If RDZ was pushing for these players then he might be pushing for some more flexibility in the ‘policy’. I think he did that in quite a respectful way, and he might be right that we need to evolve the policy to mix in a few more mid 20s big signings along with the kids and geriatrics. It’s not like we don’t ever do it (Pervis being the best example).

Keep calm we know RDZ will leave at sometime and no end of self flagellation on here will make any difference, he’s not gone yet, so let’s enjoy the ride while we can plus we have Lallarna currently shadowing.

Is it worth mentioning that Pep has just said about his achievements at Man City he’s won everything there is to win that’s in the book and it’s time to start writing a new book, well yes he won everything with all the money in the world how about doing it with a much much smaller budget 😁

until then in RDZ , TB and PB I certainly trust

Meanwhile Mrs Blue3 is currently panicking if the whole leg of lamb, turkey, pork joint and ham joint will be enough to feed four adults and two children!!!!

Losing three fantastic players in summer and the signings, other than J Pedro have been quite underwhelming in impact to date
I think that’s a wee bit harsh Igo settled in quite well and appears to be quite adaptable to play in a number of defensive positions, Dahood has shown glimpses of his ability but he’s the only one yet to cement a place

This, plus maybe a bit less over-analysis and (mis) interpretation of a few words spoken at a stressful time by a guy in his still-being-learned second language
