Gloucestershire have t0 play the netherlands twice so that will be 4 points. We need Essex to win tomorrow againt them live on sky. That leave essex on 13 points after 9 matches

If glocestershire win, I think that it. If they lose, we will win on wednesday and it will go down to the last game against surrey.

If only we beat the unicorns

Yardy doesnt need to be one of the best 1 day England batsmen as he is an All Rounder, in case you haven't noticed.

An effective and miserly bowler, a nuggety batsman who can turn in performances such as this evenings, an excellent close fielder and an improving captain.

If I were Paul Collingwood I would be a bit worried for my place in the 1 day side, not that I would want this as a Sussex fan of course, we already have too many players absent on International Duty.....

Best plan a trip to Carlisle, rather than Lords, on Saturday 18 September, then?

That will be the bit where I said he's been more use with the ball than bat of late then.

I coudn't agree more with you. Yardy is a fine player and great captain. He has made the most of his limited ability and we shoud all respect him for that.

I was merely rallying against the frankly absurd suggestion that he is one of the best Engish one day batsmen!

Your point about Colly is an interesting one - I'd imagine Bopara would get another go ahead of Yards

But Yardy is already in the England one day squad, Bopara is not a nailed on pick

Brilliant game, well worth the hanging around.

We looked dead and buried when Somerset were in full flow, should never doubt captain Yardy...

Shame to see Gloucestershire play the Dutch twice, if only they had to play those fiesty Unicorns.

So the top teams automatically qualify to the semi finals and the best runner up. Its a fix if Gloucestershire are yet to play the Netherlands twice. Our group has been made difficult due to the Unicorns inclusion as they have top professional players in their side as compared to the majority of players in the Dutch and Scottish sides playing on national lines. Still I hope we win our last two games against Glamorgan and Surrey to give ourselfs a shout at another final.
