Afternoon all, Cricinfo desktop scorecard informs me we have a lead and Prior is well into 3 figures. I hope normal service will be resumed shortly, the sooner we have our hopes for the new season rightly quashed the sooner we can all get on with our work.

The reason we have more runs than them is that Middlesex are bowling underarm, intelligently resting their bowling staff for greater challenges ahead. You see their players have checked the forecast and realised it's all a bit pointless whereas our CRICKET THICKETS haven't bothered and are still taking it seriously.

Middlesex 105
Sussex 209/5

Sussex lead by 104 runs with 5 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
With double Middlesex's score and only 5 wickets down, the Sky reporter said it was close and that Sussex were edging it at the moment. That's a fairly thick edge.

If the tail can post another 30 or so I would be pretty happy with that.

300-7? Has an extra nought crept in by mistake?
