Steve Bruce to Hull City

According to the Beeb, Steve bruce has been 'offered' the managers slot at Hull.

If true, is it a good, bad or indifferent appointment?

I have a nagging respect for Bruce and reckon he could do pretty well at a club like Hull. Unfortunately for him, wherever he lands he is in a position where he has to win round doubting fans, before he even starts work.

Give him enough time, and assuming his head isn't turned by a bigger club, and I reckon he'd do OK, in an unspectacular kind of way.

Looked rather portly to me @ the Sunderland game - could we afford an FA Cup final suit for him?

It's good news for B&HA supporters. The initial favourite for the job, when Barmby was dismissed, was Billy Davies. He might have made The Tigers challengers next season; I really don't see Bruce doing that.
Billy Davies has now been out of the game for over a year. He appears to be rather an obnoxious little man but I think he's a good manager, and I'm very surprised he's still not got a job.
The Championship is going to be a very strong league in 2012-13 so one possible rival making a poor choice for the most important appointment is welcome.
