One of the (many) reasons for us getting relegated last year was we kept losing points to our direct competitors in the relegation battle. So it’s good to see that in our remaining eight games we only play two top-nine teams. Compare that to the other top-nine teams, and we look fairly well placed to push ahead as they pick points off each other. Which is nice.

In league order...
Plymouth – 3 from 8
QPR – 4 from 9
Bristol – 6 from 8
Brighton – 2 from 8
Swindon – 5 from 9
Hartlepool – 5 from 9
Luton – 5 from 10
Port Vale – 2 from 9
Bournemouth – 2 from 9

if anything its gonna make it one hell of an exciting run in to the end of the season, teams dropping points or getting unexpected wins. The only team I can see not moving up/down much will be Plymouth

Here's some more stats

If Albion score first in a game:

Occ 21
Won 17
Drawn 4
Lost 0

If the opposition score first:

Occ 15
Won 1
Drawn 3
Lost 11

Not really a fighting bunch are we? The one game in which we fought back from going a goal behind was the QPR home game in August.

Here's a bit of hope for saturday

Sheffield Wednesday results after conceding the first goal:

Occ 16
Won 0
Drawn 4
Lost 12

Whoever scores first on saturday will almost certainly win the game it seems.

I like those stats.

As long as we score first....
