Moving on from the Madness v Specials thread. Who is better, Britains Squeeze or New Zealands Crowded House

Similar bands. I like Both, but for consistency over the years and esp for Diffords Lyrics it has to be Squeeze

Love both but it is the Crowdies for me. Always will be drawn to melancholic EPICS as Into Temptation and their last album was utterly brilliant.

Saw Squeeze (Glen and Chris doing an acoustic gig) in Tokyo some years back and they outstanding. Ridiculous the best album for me.

This is a very difficult choice for me... both are brill and its so so hard to choose... As for Chris Diffords lyrics, well Neil Finn has done some pretty good ones in his time, reference " There Goes God"....... how ever for two songs alone It must be Squeeze ! The happy chewing gum pop song, "This Summer" and the heartaching but ultimately uplifting " Some Fantastic Place"

yup Squeeze it is !

Squeeze probably have the better classics but song by song Crowded House get it. First two albums stunning and very album has been great whereas Squeeze have had some duff albums. Thankfully Finn Jnr has kept his crap to his solo stuff.

Not much in it.

I didn't rate NF's solo stuff on first listen but One Nil grows on you. 7 Worlds Collide is a must-have too

I have one of Neil Finns and a seperate Tim Finn solo album. Both are utter gash. Yet, put them together as the Finn brothers and they are excellent. Similarly, Crowded House albums are also very good. Why is their solo stuff so poor?

Also know that Squeeze are doing a new album for 2010. Hopefully it wont be as rushed as Domino

No contest for me Squeeze by a mile - beautifully written songs, a brilliant English band

Have an inherant dislike for most things Australian, however on this occasion its Crowded House in this instance. Second best band from Australia after INXS.
