I think Bromley Shrimp has a very good point. The team were doing well at the end of last season (absolutely brilliant when compared to earlier) - and then Slade wilfully dismantled it. Are the new players REALLY better than the likes of Loft and Fraser? Well look what happened last year when we played Hudds away and Stockport at home with Loft and Fraser and then look what happend this time. DON'T tell me the new signings are better than what we has last year because they palpably are not. Different, maybe. Better, no.

Any logic you have is seriously undermined by your assertion that Murray is our best player. Were you at Brentford?

Yes, and we looked far better with him in the team than on the bench, so what is your point?

Marginally better I'd say. Leon Knight was arguably our most naturally gifted player at one time, but best player is all encompassing. Blanking your team mates seriously negates "best" - team game after all - particularly if your declared intent is to have out to go up north. Some similarities with the Micky Thomas scenario. Thread was not really about Murray-plenty of them- but bigger picture.
