Southern are an absolute shambles, what is it exactly they are supposed to do? Oh yeah run trains on their tracks to a designated time. Why are these companies allowed to get away with a completely shambolic service on a monopolised transport system?

Too busy picking fights and peeing off their workforce to run trains properly at the moment

Not a leftie or a rightie, I couldn't give a toss about politics or politicians but this is just a complete farce.

Sounds very likely someone died on The eastbound platform after the game. Puts being half an hour late home into perspective :-(

Park and ride from Mill Road was crap as well , lots of queues not many buses , took me over a hour and 15 mins to get to the ground , no wonder fans don't like nite matches at the Amex. Transport by rail and park and rail is awful for night games

OK read all you smart asses. Arrived Brighton Station 7.15. Got to the ground 10 mins before half time. In no way is that OK. There were 8 of us, 6 season tickets and 2 who paid 32 quid each and we missed the first 2 goals. In what way was that our fault. The trains were absolutely crap. FULL STOP.

I think getting to the station at 7.15 is cutting it very fine.

Getting to the Amex 10 minutes before half time is obviously shitness of the highest order on behalf of Southern, but then I've come to expect that, and so would never, ever trust them to get me from Brighton station to Falmer inside 30 minutes on a match day.

Exactly this. I think you do need to build a bit of trainshittery into your travel time, as 7:15 doesn't leave a lot of margin for error if it's One Of Those Days on the railways.

As far as tonight goes, we were at Brighton an hour before, got in the queue (almost outside Brighton Station by that point), saw on Twitter that trains were being cancelled, and immediately wandered off round the back of the station to hail a cab. Screw that queue.

Got to the ground by about 20 past, even with traffic, albeit £4 each lighter for the privilege. Feel for those who missed it- although if you did, rest assured that we were shit for the first twenty minutes or so :)

Sorry I've allowed 30 mins to go about 5 miles and it took over an hour and you are saying it's my fault. Have I got that right?

Yup.

Rocking up at Brighton station half an hour before kickoff and just assuming you'll make it is crazy. Missing most of the 1st half is obviously ridiculous, but I certainly wouldn't be hanging my hat on making kickoff if I strolled up to the station at 2.30 or 7.15.

No sireee
