Wonder which it'll be tonight: Victoria closed due to rush hour overcrowding or steel rails buckling/trackside fires somewhere between Victoria and East Croydon on account of the temperature reaching a fearsome 30 degrees? Or maybe even the dream double Get Out Of Jail card to excuse Southern having to stick to even their pitiful emergency timetable.

Some problems

London Victoria 17:18 to Littlehampton left East Croydon 26 mins late, now showing as delayed
London Bridge 16:57 to Littlehampton, started from East Croydon arrived at Burgess Hill 41 minutes late

Must be the wrong type of heat

That's terrible, as I would have thought that those with very young children should have been given priority, but no doubt the heat and lack of trains does strange things to travellers

Quite, it was actually just over a week ago so the heat wasn't an excuse

In a queue behind you somewhere, have done about half a mile in 30 mins somewhere North of Gatwick. Driver has 'no clue' how long we'll be.

The question you should be asking is what can a driver on his own do in that situation ?

Glad I was on the 2.47 out of Victoria to West Worthing. Only 10 mins late but there was a lot of engineers on the track between East Croydon and Gatwick airport at that time

Crossed my mind.......it's very tedious now. Obviously one train at a time going through as we then creep forward a train length and wait another 5 mins. Not at Horley yet, left Vic at 18.15.

I was at CLJ at 17:45! Why are trains able to go down the other line? Grrrr!!!
