Just sums up Southern. The club have worked so hard to cover for their ineptitude and then they swan in at 3 hours' notice with half a plan that only threatens to make things more chaotic.

TRAINS TO CALL AT FALMER STATION THIS EVENING

We are pleased to report that Southern trains will now be calling at Falmer station after 5pm today. Southern has been working hard behind the scenes today in an effort to resource additional trains to get Brighton and Hove fans to and from the game this evening.

Trains will call at Falmer station from 5pm tonight with around a 10 minute frequency until around 11pm. The normal train service will operate, supplemented by special trains operating between Brighton and Lewes.

Wow. So all week we've been told NO trains after 5pm. Now you'll have some fans turning up trying to use the Falmer service on the offchance (f-knows how many).

Mixed messages, conflicting statements. Chaos and confusion reigns.

This is quite amazing really. From Southern telling everyone well in advance that they couldn't run trains for Rotherham, to the announcement that even with the strike off there'd be no trains on safety grounds, to finally going "Ah, actually it's fine! We've got all the trains!"

I wonder if the trains might be a bit quiet though? How many will have made alternative plans and not want to change them or not get the message? Plus everyone who's paid for parking or coaches because they thought the trains were a no hoper! Ridiculous!

It would be amazing if they didn't run those. That would be peak Southern failure.

They will probably spend the next four days saying trains wont run and then, 45 minutes before they were due to stop, say they were only joking and a normal service will be running.

As someone who works a ten minute walk from the Amex, and thus is not reliant on trains, I would find that perversely hilarious.

Poor old Paul Barber and the club, all that hard work getting alternatives in place and suddenly Southern pipe up and say we will run trains after all, if that doesn't show people how unfit they are to run the franchise then nothing will

And yet some still believe they are making all the right decisions and it's the workers who are at fault. This is the sort of chaotic decision making which makes working for them, and consequently offering a decent service, so difficult.

He should invoice Southern for all the extra buses and P&Rs, he's had to organise.
