Unspectaculary usually, I would suggest however having a bet on whatever West port to Hove naps everyday in the NSC naps table, remarkable consistency I wish I had.

I look for value match odds and often lose but Bayer Leverkusen to beat Bayern Munich at 9/1 this weekend was generous and successful

Interesting. Have won £500 plus a few times last 3 seasons.when my son set me up an online account with skybet. I do find it enjoyable but trouble is and it is a good thing I dont like losing. Example this season lost first 4 weeks and havent bet since.. Betting and not betting is a habit but maybe due to have another go. Always do same thing pick 5 games. 1 x 5 Acc and 4x4 Acc £25 stake Sure people will say this is a mugs way of betting but have had a few decent returns. I can do it on laptop but no idea on phone. Have had friends cashing out for me several times at 4.30 at Amex

I’m currently sticking to non-handicap races. Handicaps are in essence a bit of lottery, although there are some systems on the internet where people claim that’s where there’s profit to be made from certain choices each race.
Mile handicaps at Southwell (0-55’s 0-60’s 0-65’s) are what interest me. I enjoy reading between the lines.

I like the early hours Asian and Australian games and some of the volatile Indian leagues, where goals are the thing to back.

A League games were a licence to print money for years on goals/corners/cards combinations but this season has started very slowly over there with very little action compared to previous seasons. You could always throw in Le Fondre/Toivenen/etc to score any time as most sides have a prolific striker and little else.

That said, I am an appalling gambler. No thought goes into what I'm doing and normally just go with a few ridiculous accumulators which will obviously never come in. I know that and still enjoy it though and never bet more than I can afford to lose. A couple have come in over the years but I am in general Bet365's wet dream.

Still in Brighton
I was mainly just using the bet365 offers - the football in-play offer and the Grand National - both kindly highlighted on NSC. Did very well (when inplay was £50 and £25) with a clear £1500 profit, as at that time I had two accounts. Eventually they noticed and closed one and the offer is now only a fiver but I still use it. Surprised they didn't gub me on both.

To keep it ticking over in that time I would do some pand and two pand bets here and there. I've continued to enjoy these for fun. Won £95 on 4 draws yesterday when cashing out on 90 mins, on the 42p bet. Mugs game, mostly luck, but I do enjoy it.

My biggest losses were trying the high stakes (for me) and low odds game eg: - both teams to score or goals above/below. Lost a few £100s on those, which rightly scared me off. No more.

Will continue as I am on bet365 offers and tiny fun bets. It really does add an edge to "neutral" games for me, so I'm keeping it fun now rather than aiming to make money. Still like to try and avoid mugs bets though and look for good value.

I do hate the bookies in lots of respects though, for the misery they cause those who get addicted. Mourinho, Winstone and Clive Owen are tossers for doing their adverts.

I’ve got a system running that combines Martingale staking with backing at 1.01 odds.

Not been going long but steady profits so far.
Martingale’s have a habit of blowing up in the long run so be careful. I was using s martingale on super casino that used to be on the telly not sure if it still is. I won £1600 and then got banned as usual as these companies hate a consistent winner.

4 and 5 way accas, usually teams to win but sometimes btts and >2.5 goals. Also do matched betting so I do a lot of 2 ups. Not a high strike rate but when they do come in they pay off nicely.

There will be steady profits with any Martingale strategy … until you lose big.
I back at 1.01 for £100 so I win a pound every bet. 1% return on investment every few minutes.

I haven't lost a bet yet but when I do I'll just have to stake £10,000 at 1.01 once to win my lost £100 straight back. The chances of me losing twice in a row at 1.01 are 10,000/1.

If I do ever lose twice in a row then I'll have to give it up but I reckon I'll be unlucky if that happens. Obviously I'd do extra research on the £10K stake bet and make sure it is a good value 1.01.

Can do 20 a day for a steady £600 a month tax free.

Started matched betting back in march. I was never a bettor in any way but the profitsquad threads made me give it a go and started with a £50 bank.

To date I'm over £2k in gross profit but spent a big chunk when baby was born in july and have also used it to top up my wages when my overtime dried up over the summer.

Currently got about £800 sitting in various accounts.

I'm multi accounting and currently have 3 sets of accounts. I want a fourth set and to get to £1k bank so I can looking at dutching and maybe extra place strategies.

I made about 6 bets in my life, just not my thing.

Then from this August, I had a bash at Matched Betting, taking it seriously with a lot of research in the run up, I learnt a lot, losing the anxiety of knowing so little about it. I did pretty well, including on sequential lay ACCA’s. I found it was taking a fair bit of time, and after the new customer offers, you end up scrambling around for £4.77 and £9.45 profits. I got bored.

But this gave me an insight into pure lay betting. After some greedy and impulsive costly losses, amongst a load of profits, this is now going well.

Football - I lay bet eg against an Albion win at Anfield. I just thought it such a remote possibility. I won. Lay betting gives me a far better chance of winning, but there’s always that danger that you’ll have to pay out/lose your stake multiplied by 14 in this example. Quite un-relaxing during games. Another win was laying on Cluj not winning at Lazio last week. I do a brief bit of research beforehand. Also best to wait until teams are announced beforehand.

Horse racing - far more relaxing, as the event is over in minutes. Currently lay betting using ‘a method’ I devised. The odd setback, but overall going well. Touch wood, this will continue. If it doesn’t, I’ll go back to being a non-better.

Interesting that you have got into it. I have always avoided it as I felt I'd like it too much (and I have an impulsive risk taking streak to my personality). I am still too busy with other shite to engage with this just yet, but I think I may.

For nose-holders (who the OP warned off this thread, right?), try reading the chapter with the card duel with le Chifre in Casino Royale, and the fleecing of Drax in Thunderball. If the tang of decent cigarettes, the bite of decent vodka, the charge of decent amphetamines, and taking a shit load of money off an arrogant ******* doesn't get your blood coursing, you lack imagination :lolol:

Edit: and the adoring young lady with the deep heaving cleavage, urging you to win, who's rampant attententions you will later (etc etc). Come on! Irresistable.

If done under controlled laboratory conditions, obviously.

That’s really interesting. However if you do that for 10,000 days (25 years?) the chances are that you will lose that 10k. In 12 years there’s a 50/50 chance of you losing it. It’s a zero sum game and you might just lose that 10k tomorrow.

I was assuming 1 a day in the above so actually it will be much sooner if you’re doing 20 a day. You will lose long term and it sounds like a lot of effort to make bugger all.

You must understand that the odds are against you right?

Started trying to build a tenner up in to something worthwhile by sticking small stake bets on. Not going much over evens but won 4 out of 5 so far and currently have £50 in my account. Long as I can keep my winning frequency over 50% that should continue to build.

5/6*

After timing :D

i don't like betting/gambling, i think it is the work of the devil even though i don't believe in a devil. i think betting/gambling is the start of a slippery slope to depression, drugs, alcohol, etc.!

i also don't listen very well.

Odds of 6/1 and usually much more, outsider to win, correct scores, goalscorers. Up, but only by about £300 (withdrawn) as I am liable to bet silly at times.

Luckily in life, I’m not someone who’s prone to harmful addictions. Plus, although definitely not a tight-arse with money, I hate losing. Both probably made me NOT a gambler.

I looked at matched betting from afar on NSC for a couple of years, and finally got into it this August, after getting past the health scare, plus I had to wait until we had a few quid for me to start with a small amount of capital. I lost interest in MB after a couple of months ... it’s quite time consuming for modest returns. But all those who plug it on NSC are correct ... it’s risk-free if you stick to the plan.

I can now see the lure of betting, some of the website interfaces are very user friendly, you can be minutes away from financial glory, or hitting rock bottom.

My own devised betting idea is going well, but it’s very early days. I made a net gain of £80 yesterday for example.

But the OP’s health warning is 100% valid. Stay away if you’re prone to harmful addictions, are skint, or have been burnt by gambling before. Limit stakes to an amount that won’t hurt if lost.
