It is? Potter hasn’t won anything apart from success in a Swedish pub league with plenty of money thrown at him. Rodgers has had a lot of success and won silverware in the PL. Potter needs to reinvent himself somewhere just like Rodgers is doing after the Leicester debacle..

You’ve still got to go and win three leagues for promotion and then the top flight aswell.
Salford have one of the biggest budgets in league 2 if not the biggest (bar Wrexham now) and they’ve been stuck in league 2 for 4 seasons now.

What a depressing move for Rodgers. How could you look at yourself in the mirror ever again? Surely he could have done better.

The English football league is a much higher standard
English leagues are so much more difficult to get out off. Most of the league one sides would smash every side in Sweden. Potter had the funds to create a league on standard side.

Yes it is. Potter left us in the lurch, suddenly in mid-season, just when we were going very nicely.

FFS! During the season then - DURING..... between the beginning of the season and the end, not during the close season - in normal parlance, 'mid-season.........

if the first 3 pages of the Celtic forum are anything to go by this is nothing like the Potter situation. 60 posts and 55 very positive about his re-appointment, 4 sort of neutral 1 negative. As regards Rodgers, he has been at the top and now back with the club he supported in his boyhood not a bad career and certainly one that is not finished.

Whatever way you slice it, going from the PL to end up back in the MTL is a massive step-down for Rodgers. Climbing back onto the old treadmill of Kilmarnock, St Mirren and Livingston, at a club where he's already been there, done that, where there's no new challenge, must be hugely deflating. Utter drudgery.
Amazed he didn't bide his time for another PL job. There's bound to be vacancies this side of Christmas, especially in the November culling season during the International break. Shows a lack of ambition IMO.

Maybe he didn't want another PL club yet. The quality of football in SPL might be poor but the support and atmosphere at Celtic is incredible , better than most (all?) English clubs. Ambition does not necessarily mean looking for higher paid jobs. His ambition might simply be to see if he can get Celtic further in the Champions League...
