If a player doesn't want to be there then he's gone. Fabregas had to wait a year or two as will Modric. Pique didn't as he was not first choice at Utd (and they made a tidy £5m profit on a player that played a handful of games).

You can't force players to stay where they are (Particularly if they are younger due to the terribly unbalanced compensation packages given when they leave on a Bosman free-transfers) in the modern game due to the fear of losing £££.

I'm not getting into a quarrel about this. I hate Manchester United, Alex Ferguson and have a strong dislike of Barcelona and Pique. My point was only that Utd had little or no choice regarding his departure...
