People who say we are not going down

Swindon are the team we must replace and Yeovil and Hereford must not improve

Can you honestly see those three teams NOT getting to 50 points?

We are 6 points behind. We need 16. Swindon only need 9. Yeovil need 11.

Even if we do get our 16 points, 4 wins and a draw do you honestly think Swindon and Yeovil can't match us?

I agree that the atmosphere at Withdean has obviously been awful in the main, and that we as fans need to take some responsibility.

HOWEVER its not as if our away record is THAT good anyway.
Home: 4 wins, 5 draws, 10 defeats;
Away: 4 wins, 6 draws, 8 defeats.

So i'm not sure that comparing home support and away support to results means too much?

Absolutely. Opposition managers are quoted as saying the Withdean whingers are like a 12th man for the opposition. It's the fans' fault, for moaning and not getting behind the team. I firmly believe that if we'd actually bothered to support the boys we'd be much further up the table.

.

thats a joke right?

You've now mentioned Swindon as the team to catch in two separate threads and have been misquoting their points total.

You do know they won away on Tuesday don't you?

They are now on 44 - though they have played 39.

Assuming you're not using some kind of higher form of irony, then you're just wrong tho eh? The players get precious little stick. Withdean is admittedly quiet, but that's as much down to playing in an uncovered council athletics track in a nature reserve than anything else. If the players are incapable of raising their game in a library then f*** 'em, they've got very little future in the game. Andy Whing manages to rise above the lack of volume, as did Jim McNulty in the few games we saw him play before his season was cruelly cut short. Loanees like Paul McShane managed it, cos their motivation comes from within themselves. It isn't directly proportional to the amount of Getting Behind The Team at Withdean. Sorry, but its the players collectively who have let the fans - and themselves - down.

:clap:Agree fully!

Was at the Northampton game and the fans got behind the players because they could see they were trying. How many times have the players given everything at home this season?

withdean is no worse for atmosphere than most other grounds in league 1. to blame the fans is just silly. most people were very very patient with adams. even those people who were upset to see wilkins sacked and then replaced by adams gave the team and manager their complete backing.

actually you could argue that if people had been more vocal earlier in the season when it became clear adams didn't have a clue, we would have given ourselves a better chance of staying up.

for example if danny wilson had been bought in to replace adams in november (i think he joined swindon in november?) would we be where swindon are now?

Once again THPP brings a reasoned argument.

We are there to be entertained, not drained of any enthusiasm by a inept team.

to true. I was a firm believer that sacking adams would do us damage even though i wasn't a fan of him and was upset wilkins went.

would be any higher if adams was still manager? or would we be bottom?
