Yep heart problems and alleged tax evasion are sure to light up the interview panel faces when he trots in to sign the contract.

Clearly innocent until proven guilty but the rumours of brown envelopes betwixt Mandaric and Redknapp whilst at Portsmouth were rife. Not at all surprised by how long it has taken the CPS/HMRC to bring the case to court though.

With Heart problems and this hanging over him, might he want to take a sabbatical? Leaving the door open for Gus?

He can't be England manager with all this going on surely?

Southwark crown court is outside where I work, should be interesting!

This is hardly new. People have been citing this as a potential issue with his attempts to get the england job for quite a while now.

All he did was to have several £100,000 sent by his employer to his offshore bank account. Surely it's normal to receive a gift in this manner from your employer?

The fact that higher rate tax, employees national insurance, and employers national insurance; were all avoided, was just incidental.

HR had a couple of coronary stents fitted......minature mesh tubes which are expanded in the artery where the plaque concentrations are disrupting blood flow... and although the procedure is serious in implication,it is relatively simple in execution. So much so that the recipient is awake for the duration of the operation, mildly sedated with valium to mediate any anxiety. It is commonplace for the patient to return home the following day after an overnight stay in hospital, which is usually for observational purposes.

Redknapp should be bouncing around by now,and probably feeling better than he has for years. He didnt have a heart attack,or any open heart surgery, but suffered from congested arteries like so many others. The problem arteries have now been re-widened.

He should be capable of facing a trial, but perhaps will find a cardiologist who is prepared to claim the opposite. Should be interesting.

Exactly. It has been known about for some time in football circles, but couldn't be reported while proceedings against Storrie were under way. The Express jumped early and the reporter in question was hauled in by a judge and threatened with jail - not to mention being banned from White Hart Lane and the Spurs training ground. The story was also removed from the Express website, although what either the writer and paper thought they were doing breaking such an elementary rule of journalism is beyond me.
