Lewandowski, lewandowski, wipe away your little tear
Thank the Lord that
You can still walk
You got done, by Gordon Greer...

Love that..would be great to hear that tomorrow!!
Of course in the good old days we would all be saying "he got he ball first". As for a smashed shin-pad - I doubt it. There was a small hole in his sock as a direct result of the challenge. I love the idea of "intensive treatment" as well; 2 blokes with a wet sponge, a quick spray of Deep Heat and a bucketful of sympathy.. he is embarrassing himself.

Sorry if this fixtures but it made me smile this morning...

RAGING Poland star Robert Lewandowski insists he will be gunning for revenge on Gordon Greer when his side face Scotland again next October.

The Polish skipper was outraged at the Brighton defender’s challenge on him in Tuesday night’s Euro 2016 qualifying clash in Warsaw which finished in a 2-2 draw.

Bayern Munich hitman Lewandowski claimed Greer’s tackle had smashed his shinpad but Scots boss Gordon Strachan played down the incident.

However, the 26-year-old reckons he will be on a revenge mission in what is certain to be a crucial clash in the battle to get to France when the two sides meet again in the second last game of Group D at Hampden next year.

Lewandowski said: “His studs were at the height of my knee. I don’t know what it looked like from the side but the referee didn’t see it unfortunately.

“He told me he didn’t get a clear view of it but the assistant referee did have a good view.

“I really don’t like to think what would have happened if I hadn’t had shinpads on.

“There is no point complaining to the Scotsman who did it now – it won’t change anything.

“But I hope in the match in their country I will repay him for it.”

And Lewandowski reckoned he was only able to carry on after receiving intensive treatment.

He said: “I didn’t want to go off – I wanted to help the team but it was very hard running about because my leg didn’t feel very comfortable.

“I put my leg in an ice pack during the interval and that helped a little.

“There wasn’t great joy in the dressing room after the match because we didn’t beat Scotland.

“We lead the group now but there is a long way to go and we knew this group wouldn’t be easy.”

Thanks for that!
I wondered what the high pitched scream that I heard the other night was for.

All is revealed now :)

Aw, come on people. We all know that a ruptured shinpad can take weeks to heal.

And I bet Gordon's getting pretty scared knowing that Lewandowski's out to get him!

Greer did get the ball first.

I read the interview in Polish, and when Robert was talking about "getting his own back" it was rather clear from the context that he meant scoring a goal against the Greer-including Scottish defence.

RL is a top class professional, and he would never threaten to cause injury to another player.
