As an aside, here's Gary Numan in session a year or two back with an extremely intense and novel version of 'Are Friends Electric'. This could be my favourite ever performance by him of this classic.

Their second album, The Anvil, was a killer. They were a sort of New Romantic supergroup, really - Dave Formula of Magazine and Billy Currie of Ultravox as well as Rusty Egan and Midge Ure. And the great Barry Adamson played bass on a couple of tracks.
