In the above YouTube video Rory makes a good case for sacking Potter, just as Matt Law's article presented sound reasons why Chelsea are not inclined to do that now.

I think if you're looking for a third perspective then look at Brighton under De Zerbi. I think the better we do the worse it gets for Potter. This squad is scoring goals, winning matches. We could have settled for a point vs Fulham but that is not De Zerbi's style, and this is why we draw fewer matches than we did under Potter. It is proof that Potter is a cautious manager.

I agree with Rory that the Aubameyang situation is farcical - Potter HAD to make that work and - similarly - Sterling hasn't worked under Potter either. Most fans would have looked as those two and thought they'd have had 15 Prem goals between them by now. And that's not to mention Broja. 40 Prem appearances between the 3 of them, just 6 goals combined, and only 1 since the World Cup. Give RDZ those 3 and we'd be Top 4.

Cheeky bid for all 3…?

Like someone posted above I expected Potter to be sent packing after the Southampton defeat. Toddy is sticking with him and I expect results will improve as they(Chelsea) have too much talent for them not to. I still don't think Potter will lead them to trophies though, other than top 4 next season.

A little angry update from Rory

Was very anti Rory jennings after a particularly dismissive pre-season review of us a couple of seasons ago.

I have become a bit of a fan recently, tuning into the Chelsea meltdown.
He's done a complete 180 on this subject over the past 2 weeks.

Fun to observe, I wouldn't be able to listen to any of our podcasts if we were in a similar state of dismay.
I had to unfollow one of them after a stupid Sanchez rant last week.

Long may his suffering continue. Loving how he suggests most of the CL teams are currently a bit shit so sacking Potter would put Chelsea in a great position to win the CL. New manager bounce would do it. Hilarious…he’s not loving this season at all

He needs to get some furniture in that room too

Great isn’t it? Can’t score at home to Southampton but have a realistic chance at seeing off Real/Barca et al to win the Champions League.

You might have misunderstood the Sanchez comments online. Brighton fans are very clever and ironical.

Multiple reliable, well connected sources have told ChelseaFC365 that sections of Chelsea’s dressing room are “disinterested” with life under Graham Potter.

Sources revealed that some players are particularly disinterested in team meetings held by Graham Potter. It is felt by players that there is not much togetherness within the the team, there is a feeling amongst some that the team is now a bunch of individuals rather than a unified collective. The term “individuals not a team” came up from one source.

When asked about player’s appearing to be constantly smiling in revealed training pictures, sources hinted that player’s are enjoying playing in certain groups and mini games but when it comes to the behind scenes work ahead of the game, some are taking in information with one ear and letting it go out the other."

Sounds like he's lost the dressing room ..

That will Potters downfall, player power, once the dressing room is lost that is it.
I am pretty sure Todd won't be too bothered by some of the "star" players losing confidence as they have probably been written off as mistakes and not made by him such as Stirling, however if any of Badiashile, Fofana, Felix, Madueke, Santos or Gust start voicing concerns that will be the final straw, I think, and a defeat against Tottenham and Dortmund (or Draw). Bye Bye Potter.

Thing is if Todd sacks him then the whole idea of building and the rationale behind plundering B’ton looks like a crock of shite. He’ll undermine his own position as head of the organisation, I think it would take outright revolt on the terraces and in the dressing room for him to pull the trigger. Even then maybe not. Potter’s there for a while IMO, and it’s utterly hilarious.

Edit* although I do want him sacked so I can stop giving a shit about Chelsea results, it’s mental that they’re the second score I look for.

All the talent in the world doesn't naturally mean that they will eventually come good.
Every one of them has to buy into the manager, his philosophy and his tactics. They have to be unified and pulling as one. They have to work harder than other teams.
Everything thus far, under Potters watch, suggests an element of disharmony ( or disinterest )within the squad. If he hasn't won them over by now, it ain't gonna happen. By the law of averages, they will probably scrape a few wins but there wont be any significant improvement this season or next. Boehly has believed the hype, so he is still sold on the guy and will take quite a lot of persuading that he hasn't employed a man out of his depth.
He will give him this season, painful as it is going to be and probably three months into next before re-assessing.
Meanwhile the discontent amongst the fanbase is growing ever louder. That is Boehly's biggest problem. How long can he resist the calls for change. That is the biggest test of his resolve.

By the law of averages it appears to be happening for Arteta?

This is main characteristic that most American businessmen have, they believe in a lot of bullshit and presentation without substance.
They also hate being wrong, & never admit defeat.

Sounds more like the problems in the dressing room that he was brought in to solve - eventually. It will depend on a large clear-out in the summer - although it might be difficult to persuade some of them to leave if other clubs aren't prepared to match their wages. If I was on £5M plus a year, I'd probably be quite happy to mess around on the traning ground with a little gang of mates in the same situation, not putting myself out in any way, knowing that clueless fans will blame the manager - and probably be scweaming why doesn't he put me back in the team!
And if I just do nothing, I can have another two years of this cushy life - the job's a good 'un!
