Given our great first half of the season, I was trying to work out which records (compared to previous 4 seasons) we would end up breaking by the end of the season. I have come up with a list of 13 which I think are in sight and put my own guestimates of how likely we are to beat the previous record.

1. Highest place in Premier League - Current 9th, Record 15th (19-20 & 17-18) - Chance 9/10
2. Highest Points total - Current 29, Record 41 (19-20 & 20-21) - Chance 9/10
3. Most wins - Current 6, Record 9 (in each season) - Chance 7/10
4. Most away wins - Current 3, Record (5 in 20-21) - Chance 7/10
5. Most Draws - Current 11, Record 14 (19-20 & 20-21) - Chance 9/10
6. Most Away draws - Current 6, Record 7 (19-20) - Chance 8/10
7. Fewest Defeats - Current 4, Record 15 (19-20 & 20-21) - Chance 9.5/10
8. Fewest Away Defeats - Current 1 Record 8 (19-20) - Chance 9.5/10
9 Goals Conceded - Current 22, record 46 (20-21) - Chance 8/10
10. Goals Scored - Current 22, record 40 (20-21) - Chance 6/10
11. Best Goal difference - Current 0, record -6 (2020-21) - Chance 6/10
12. Number of teams we did the double over - Current 1, record 2 (in each season) - Chance 6.5/10
13. Highest individual goalscorer - Current 7 (Maupay), record 13 (Murray 2018-19) - Chance 6/10

Probably working!
Number of different goal scorers?
I’m not sure of what it is this season, but doubt it would have ever been a great number.

Fewest Red cards?
As above.

Ditto Yellow cards.

Number of times Lawro has predicted us to win?

Total number of shots?
We probably are nowhere near last years total.

Fewest shots faced?

Goals scored from a corner?

Penalties missed?

Yes, I think many of these are possible, however I think we missed quite a number of penalties last season, including 2 in the same match.

This with brass knobs on! I just hate records and statistics that make it like there was no football before Sky invented it in the 1990s!
Agree 100%, but it is hard to compare some of the records, given we played 42 games in the old First Division against 38 in the PL.

However, going one better in the FA Cup than 1983 would be the best!

Last season we averaged 12.8 shots per game, this season currently 12.1, so no, not a massive difference despite perception.

Fairy nuff - one better in the FA Cup is fine, and easily quantifiable - and so would finishing higher than 13th. be! Most goals scored, or most clean sheets no problem either - if we can beat those totals with four games less it would definatley count as an improvement on the old records.
Points might be tricky though - didn't they change from two points for a win to tthree whilst we were in the first division?

The full on lockdown season must beat that. Wasn’t every game on TV for a large part of the season?

I think, because of that, Brighton v Arsenal was the first ever 3pm Saturday Prem game on UK broadcast.

6. Most Away draws - Current 6, Record 7 (19-20) - Chance 8/10
7. Fewest Defeats - Current 4, Record 15 (19-20 & 20-21) - Chance 9.5/10
8. Fewest Away Defeats - Current 1 Record 8 (19-20) - Chance 9.5/10
9 Goals Conceded - Current 22, record 46 (20-21) - Chance 8/10

Increased likelihood of numbers 5,6 & 8 now.

What's the record number of 1-1 draws in a row?

Just imagine how good TB could have it if he invested in the players capable of turning even half of these draws into wins. Oh well, not my money, not my ceiling

Only need another seven draws from the remaining 16 games to take the all time Premier League draw record, six to take the 38 game a season record...
