Longport is the nearest station, but trains are infrequent, and it is not a great walk (1.5 miles through not great areas). If you do walk, go up Station Street, turn left onto newcastle street, keep right until you get to Market place (strange looking pottery museum on the left), cross over at the lights, turn left by the pub on the corner (don't nip in for a swift pint!!) up Hamil Road and your there. Probably 30 min walk IMHO, but 15 minutes when you look around you and see where you're walking. Good luck

your not going to Port Vale either but your are going West Ham (i assume as everyone else is) so that makes you a glory hunter !

You're obviously local to the area. I'm going the The Vine in Hamil Road, an away pub by all accounts and where we were last time. That's not the pub you're saying not to have a swift pint in is it???
